Thinkuknow is a UK organisation that helps protect children and young people both online and offline. Take a look at their website for advice about staying safe when using your phone, tablet or computer.

Remember to be SMART when using the internet

If you are feeling worried about your own mental health or wellbeing there are lots of people who can help, including friends, family and school staff. If you would like advice or support confidentially, please contact one of the following organisations.

Kooth offer lots of materials online to help you think about your own well-being. They also provide online counselling and advice Monday – Friday 9am – 10pm and Saturday – Sunday 6pm – 10pm. Visit https://www.kooth.com.

Young Minds offer lots of advice around changes in thoughts and feelings, bullying, body image, exam stress and much more. Visit https://youngminds.org.uk/find-help/feelings-and-symptoms

If you need advice or help in relation to concerns about bullying, we would always encourage you to speak to a member of staff in the Academy in the first instance or one of our Anit-Bullying Ambassadors. If you are not yet comfortable doing so, you can seek support from the Anti-Bullying Alliance by visiting https://www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk/tools-information/if-youre-being-bullied/find-help-and-support.

If you are a young carer, friends and relatives are often the first people to turn to for help with problems. Talking things through with them can be really helpful. You can also seek support from staff in the Academy. If you have any worries about your own safety or the safety of a family member or friend, you can seek advice from a number of agencies;

The NSPCC are there to talk to you if you are worried about being hurt or bullied by one of your family or someone you live with or if you are worried about someone you care about being hurt. They are able to offer support and to take some details from about what is happening. They can also talk to you through their counselling service. Childline can help you on with all sorts of problems you might have, including feeling scared or unsafe. You can call them for free to speak to someone privately. You can contact a Childline counsellor about anything, no problem is too big or too small.
