Pupil Parliament

We believe that our Pupil Parliament will helps us to teach our children about the key British value of democracy. However, the most important reason for having a Pupil Parliament is to allow students to have an organised voice into how their Academy is working.

The process of becoming a member of the Oasis Don Valley Pupil Parliament replicated that used in government in Britain. Children stood as candidates for their year group, with each year group being presented. Candidates had to prepare an application, and gave a short five minute speech to their class. we then held our election week when all of our children voted for the person that they wanted to represent their year group, the children with the highest number of votes were elected.

Across the Oasis family Pupil Parliament groups have made a huge difference to the education of children including, supporting curriculum design, redesigning play spaces and identifying trips and visits that children across the academies would like to go on.

Our Pupil Parliament has been chosen for this Academic year.  They will be lead by our Head Boy Kasib Ali and Head Girl Somaya Masood.
