Nursery

Wishing you a very warm welcome from our Team Nursery.

Here at Oasis Academy Don Valley, we understand the importance of your child having the best start in their education, and we work hard as a family of staff to make this happen. Working in partnership with you, your child will be guided through their emotional, social and physical development preparing them for primary school, in a play-led exciting environment. By providing a secure learning environment and engaging curriculum children gain an exceptional education. We build warm and caring relationships, encourage the children’s creativity, and develop their self-esteem.

Our Nursery provides the perfect introduction to learning and gives children confidence and skills to transfer seamlessly to our Primary Phase Reception class (Application required).

Session times

The Nursery has morning and afternoon classes with 26 part-time places available in each session. Morning sessions 8:30am – 11:30am Afternoon sessions 12.15pm - 3.15pm.

Start dates

The children start at the academy in small groups, this enables our dedicated Nursery staff to offer them the support they need to develop new relationships and helps them to learn the new routines and expectations as they join us. Many of our children begin their education journey with us at the beginning of the new academic year each September but if we have spaces available, we can admit children throughout the year. We value every child for their individuality and recognise that each one will settle into the academy in their own unique way. 

Staffing

Our Early Years Lead oversees both Nursery and Reception classes. There is a teacher and two teaching assistants in our nursery every day. Miss Dunning is our dedicated Nursery teacher and joined our academy when it first opened in September 2015, she is ably supported by two teaching assistants. All of our academy staff are dedicated to providing excellent pastoral care to ensure that the children in their care develop and meet their milestones. Children in the EYFS are fully included in academy life and we all share the same values and ethos.
